Current Clinical Duties:
I work as a Consultant in a teaching hospital in Bristol as part of a group of 11 Consultants, providing specialist ENT services to the population of Bristol and tertiary referral care for the population of the South West of England. I have particular sub speciality interests in otology (study of ear disease) and rhinology (study of nasal and sinus disease). My practice involves an extensive paediatric and adult population. I am the Consultant in Charge of the West of England Cochlear Implant Clinic, the tinnitus clinic and have run special clinics in paediatric hearing disorders, adult rhinitis and paediatric rhinology. In addition, I carry out general ENT clinics covering the whole range of ENT.

Medical Adviser to The Royal National Institute for the Deaf 2010 - 2015.
Member of Specialist Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology training at Royal College of Surgeons, 2012 – 2018.
Director of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, North Bristol NHS Trust 2000 – 2006.
Research Interests:
I have published papers in peer reviewed journals on glue ear, tinnitus, cochlear implants, sinusitis and nasal surgery.
Medicolegal Experience:
I have been involved in medicolegal practice since 1989. I have acted as an Expert Witness in over 600 cases of noise induced hearing loss, acting for both claimants and defendants. I also have experience of preparing medico-legal reports and acting as an Expert Witness in numerous cases of personal injury, hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, nasal and sinus problems, paediatric ENT and general Adult ENT issues.
I have been instructed by the General Medical Council, Medical Defence Union, Royal College of Nurses and many other organisations.
My instructions are approximately 50% Joint, 25% Claimant and 25% Defendant. I have experience of acting as an Expert Witness advising the Court in cases of medical negligence. I have experience of appearing in Court as an Expert Witness.
